Applying for a Kerala PSC notification

Applying to a Kerala PSC post means logging in to your Thulasi profile and clicking Apply Now against that notification’s category number before its closing date. You upload no certificates at this stage — the Commission states documents proving qualification, experience, community and age must be produced as and when called for — and once submitted, the application cannot be modified.

Steps

  1. Complete your profile first

A post can only be applied for from a completed One Time Registration profile, including your declarations and educational qualifications. The application is filled from what your profile already holds.

  2. Find the notification and its category number

Every Kerala PSC recruitment carries a category number and a closing date. Browse the Commission’s notifications page — or our own indexed copy at /jobs/ — and note the category number of the post you want.

  3. Click Apply Now against that category number

Log in to your profile and use the Apply Now button on the notification link for that post. Your stored details carry into the application, which is why an error in the profile becomes an error in the application.

  4. Do not expect to upload certificates now

The Commission’s guidance is explicit that documents to prove qualification, experience, community, age and so on have to be produced as and when called for. Nothing is verified at the moment you apply — you are admitted to the process provisionally.

  5. Submit before the closing date, and keep the printout

Submitted applications appear in your profile’s applied-posts list. Print or save the submitted application: the Commission states that submissions are provisional and cannot be modified after submission, so the printout is your record of what was sent.

  6. Applying is not the same as confirming

For posts where an examination is later scheduled, a separate confirmation step is required inside a published window, and no admission ticket is generated without it. That is a different action, taken months later — see the confirmation guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an application fee for Kerala PSC notifications?#

The Commission’s Tips to Applicants page states that no application fee is required. Departmental Tests, which are for serving government employees, are a separate process that does carry a fee paid by e-payment.

Can I edit or withdraw my application after submitting it?#

The Commission states that submissions become provisional and cannot be modified after submission. We found no official Kerala PSC page describing a withdrawal feature, so this guide does not claim one exists.

Do I upload my degree certificate when applying?#

No. Documents proving qualification, experience, community and age are produced as and when called for. Candidates are admitted provisionally, and applications with discrepancies found on detailed scrutiny are rejected later.

What if the last date falls on a holiday?#

Kerala PSC does not publish a general rule extending a closing date that falls on a holiday, so we do not state one. Go by the date printed on that specific notification and apply well before it.

I applied in more than one district for the same district-wise post. What happens?#

All such applications are rejected. The Commission states that if you have reached a short list or ranked list your name is removed from it, and if you were already appointed the advice is cancelled and you are terminated from service.

I got a success message but the post is not in my applied list.#

Check the My Applications printout in your profile — that is the Commission’s own way of confirming what actually registered. If the post still does not appear, this is not a situation it publishes a fix for; contact the Commission before the last date, with a screenshot.

The portal was slow and my application went through just after midnight.#

The last date in every notification runs up to 12 midnight and is enforced as a hard cutoff. No provision for extending it for an individual candidate is published. The only real protection is not leaving it to the final hour.

I corrected my profile after the closing date. Does my application update?#

No. Notifications state that a profile correction made after the last date for receipt of applications — whether by you or by the Commission’s office on request — does not reflect in the application already submitted, and takes effect only from the date the correction was made.

The Apply Now button is not showing for a post I qualify for.#

Apply Now is meant to appear against each post inside that notification’s link while the window is open. The Commission publishes no troubleshooting list for when it is missing. If it genuinely should be there, contact its applications desk rather than guessing.

Where the Commission has not published a rule, this guide says so rather than guessing. Anything marked “not officially published” is exactly that.
