Kerala PSC application fees, and where a fee does apply

Kerala PSC states on its Tips to Applicants page that no application fee is required for its recruitment notifications. The exception is Departmental Tests — the examinations for serving government employees — where the Commission’s own instructions describe an examination fee and a certificate fee paid by e-payment through the Treasury before the closing date.

Steps

  1. Recruitment notifications: no application fee

    For the ordinary route — you see a notification, you click Apply Now in your Thulasi profile — the Commission’s Tips to Applicants page states no application fee is required.

  2. Departmental Tests: a fee applies, and it gates the application

    The Commission’s Malayalam guidance for applying to Departmental Examinations describes an examination fee and a certificate fee, paid through a Make Payment link that routes to the Treasury site for net banking, and states the payment must be completed before the closing date or the application is rejected.

  3. Do not generalise one to the other

    These are two different systems with two different portals. A Departmental Test fee says nothing about a recruitment notification, and the absence of a recruitment fee says nothing about a Departmental Test.

  4. Always read the notification itself

    Fee conditions are set per notification. If a specific recruitment ever states otherwise, that notification governs — not this page and not any blog.

Do I pay anything to apply for a Kerala PSC job?#

Per the Commission’s Tips to Applicants page, no application fee is required for its recruitment notifications. Always check the individual notification, which is the governing document.

Why do some sites mention a Kerala PSC fee then?#

Usually because they are describing Departmental Tests, which do carry an examination fee and a certificate fee paid by e-payment, or because they are describing another state’s Public Service Commission.

Is there a fee to object to an answer key?#

Kerala PSC does not publish a fee for answer-key objections in either direction — its standing notice covers only the channel and the deadline. We do not claim the objection is free, because no official source says so.
