Correcting entries in your Kerala PSC profile

Kerala PSC’s correction form lists exactly five profile items it will correct for you — name, date of birth, community, gender and parents’ names. For everything else the form itself instructs candidates to make the change themselves and not to approach any office of the Commission, and that list explicitly includes your photo and signature. Correcting a profile does not repair an application already submitted.

Steps

  1. Five fields, and only five, need the Commission

    The Commission’s correction form has pre-printed rows for exactly these profile items: name, date of birth, community, gender, and name of parents. Those are the entries the Commission corrects on your behalf.

  2. Everything else you change yourself — including photo and signature

    The same form carries a note telling candidates they can correct or add the following data themselves and shall not approach any office of the Kerala Public Service Commission for such corrections: newly acquired educational qualifications; physical measurements such as height and chest; communication address, ID proof, mobile phone number, e-mail ID, photo and signature; new declarations regarding present employment, debarment and experience; and status relating to PH, ex-servicemen and sportsmen benefits. Guides that tell you your photo is locked are wrong — the Commission’s own form says otherwise.

  3. Download and fill the correction form

    The form is published on the Commission’s site as Application for Correction of Entries made on the Profile under One Time Registration. It asks for your User ID, your name as it stands on the profile, your date of birth, and then a row per item showing the existing data and the correction required.

  4. Read the declaration before you sign it

    The form’s declaration reads: "The Corrections whatsoever made on the profile are as per my request. All my earlier claims stand cancelled forever." That last sentence is not boilerplate — treat the correction as final.

  5. It is verified against your originals at a Commission office

    The form’s office-use section records that the corrections are made after comparing and verifying the data with original documents, signed off by an Assistant, a Section Officer, and the Regional or District Officer of the Commission. Bring the record that establishes the correct value.

  6. Fix it before you apply, not after

    An application is a snapshot of your profile at submission. The Commission states that submissions are provisional and cannot be modified after submission, so a correction that lands later does not repair that application.

  7. What the Commission does not publish

    There is no published turnaround time for a correction, no document checklist attached to the form itself, and no published procedure for merging or deleting a duplicate profile. Which Kerala PSC profile fields can I not change myself?#

The correction form’s pre-printed rows are name, date of birth, community, gender, and name of parents. Those are the entries the Commission corrects on request.

Is my photo locked once uploaded?#

No. The correction form explicitly lists photo and signature among the data candidates can correct themselves, and instructs them not to approach a Commission office for it. Several popular guides state the opposite.

I fixed my profile — does my submitted application update too?#

No. The Commission states submissions become provisional and cannot be modified after submission. The correction applies to future applications.

How long does a profile correction take?#

Kerala PSC does not publish a turnaround time, so we do not quote one. The enquiry numbers on the Contact Us page are the official channel for a status query.

Can I change my communication address myself?#

Yes, and you may need to: for exams requiring confirmation, the examination programmes state that the district of your communication address is what you can select as your examination centre, and that any change must be made before you submit confirmation.

My name changed after marriage. Do I need a Gazette notification?#

Not for a change in name only. The Commission requires an identification certificate obtained from a Gazetted Officer, attached with the relevant page of the SSLC or extract of the admission register. A full Gazette notification is what is required where religion or community changes as well.

My name is written in a different order across my certificates.#

Where the name in the application differs from the name in the documents, the Commission requires an identity certificate from a Gazetted Officer showing they are the same person, produced when it asks. Neither document has to be changed.
