How your Kerala PSC examination district is decided

When submitting confirmation for a Kerala PSC examination, you can select the district of your communication address as your choice of examination centre — not any district you like. The Commission’s examination programmes say the communication address may be changed if necessary, and warn candidates to submit confirmation only after making that change. Separately, the General Instructions state that no change of examination centre will be allowed under any circumstances.

Steps

  1. Read the rule as the Commission prints it

    Every "for submitting confirmation" examination programme carries this clause: while submitting confirmation for the confirmation-required posts of the programme, candidates can select the district of their communication address as choice of their examination centre; changes can be made in the communication address if necessary, and special attention is to be taken to submit confirmation only after making the necessary changes in the profile.

  2. Change the address in your profile first

    The communication address is a field you maintain yourself in your profile. Update it before you open the confirmation screen, not after.

  3. Then confirm

    The district offered to you at confirmation reflects the address stored at that moment. Confirming first and editing afterwards does not move your centre.

  4. After that, the centre is fixed

    The General Instructions for candidates state plainly that no change of examination centre will be allowed under any circumstances.

  5. This is not a new rule

    The same clause appears verbatim in the Commission’s monthly examination programmes going back through 2024 and 2025, not only in 2026. Guides presenting it as a recent change are mistaken.

You must occupy only the seat allotted against your register number, and no centre change is permitted — but the Commission does not address a wrong-block situation inside the same centre either way. Report it to the Chief Superintendent in writing before the examination starts.
