Duplicate profiles and the problems that surface them

Kerala PSC states that under no circumstances shall a candidate register more than once under One Time Registration, and that those who register more than once or furnish bogus information are liable to be debarred from applying, permanently or for a fixed period, or to face legal action. The errors people meet — an Aadhaar already linked to another user ID, or OTP clashes on a shared mobile number — are usually that rule surfacing.

Steps

  1. Understand the rule before you try to work around it

A second profile is not a fix for a forgotten login. It is a violation carrying debarment or legal action. Recover the original profile instead.

  2. Mobile number and email you can change yourself

The Commission’s correction form lists communication address, ID proof, mobile phone number, e-mail ID, photo and signature among the data candidates correct themselves, and tells them not to approach an office for those. Two siblings sharing one number should each set their own.

  3. The "Aadhaar already linked" error

It means that Aadhaar is tied to a different user ID — usually a second profile somewhere in the system. The Commission publishes no self-service unlink or merge path for this. Use its technical support line or a district office with original identity proof rather than creating another profile.

  4. If you have lost both the registered mobile and email

Both published recovery routes assume you still control one of them. The portal FAQ goes only as far as saying a call to the help desk can help trace a forgotten User ID after verifying your details. See the recovery guide, then the Commission’s contact numbers.

  5. What is not published

There is no published procedure for merging or deleting a duplicate profile, and no published rule permitting or forbidding two profiles sharing a mobile number long-term. Instructions for both circulate online. We do not repeat them.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I have two Thulasi profiles?#

The General Conditions state a candidate shall not register more than once under any circumstances, and that those who do, or who furnish bogus information, are liable to be debarred permanently or for a fixed period, or face legal action initiated by the Commission.

Aadhaar says it is already linked to another user ID.#

That Aadhaar is tied to a different profile. The Commission publishes no self-service fix. Contact its technical support or a district office with original identity proof — and do not create a further profile.

My sibling and I registered with the same mobile number and OTPs now clash.#

Mobile number is a field each of you can correct inside your own profile without visiting an office. Set a number only you control. The Commission publishes no rule on sharing one number long-term, so do not rely on it working.

Can two profiles be merged?#

Kerala PSC publishes no merge or delete procedure. Procedures for it circulate online and we could not trace any to a Commission document. Ask the Commission about your specific case.

Where the Commission has not published a rule, this guide says so rather than guessing. Anything marked “not officially published” is exactly that.
