Recruitment through the Co-operative Service Examination Board

The Co-operative Service Examination Board, also called the Sahakarana Pareeksha Board, recruits staff for co-operative societies and banks across Kerala. It is not Kerala PSC and a Thulasi profile does not apply. It runs its own one-time registration, and unlike Kerala PSC it charges a fee for each society you apply to — with an additional charge for every extra society, plus tax.

Steps

  1. A separate body with its own portal

    CSEB recruits for co-operative societies under the co-operative societies law, with its own application system entirely independent of the Commission’s. Its application portal and its notification site are on separate addresses.

  2. Complete its own one-time registration

    The board’s site carries its own registration and candidate login, required before any application. This is a different registration from the one you did with the Commission.

  3. The fee stacks per society

    Verified from two 2026 notifications: general candidates pay ₹150 for the first society and ₹50 for each additional one; Scheduled Caste and Tribe candidates pay ₹50 for the first and ₹50 for each additional. Tax at eighteen per cent is charged on top, under a 2024 Government Order.

  4. Age band and relaxations

    The 2026 notifications set 18 to 40, with five years for Scheduled Castes and Tribes, three for Other Backward Classes, ex-servicemen and economically weaker sections, ten for candidates with forty per cent or more disability, and ten for widows.

  5. The selection stages differ by post

    The Junior Clerk round used an OMR test; the Secretary round used an online test. Both are followed by an interview at the institution, with a maximum of twenty marks and a stated minimum of four for attending.

  6. Online only

    Both notifications state that applications sent by post will not be accepted.

  7. One discrepancy worth knowing

    Generic text on the board’s own site describes an eighty-mark written examination with a fifteen-mark interview, which does not match the two 2026 notifications we read. Where they conflict, the notification for your own recruitment governs.

No. CSEB maintains its own candidate portal and its own one-time registration, separate from Kerala PSC’s.
