Missing a Kerala PSC exam after submitting confirmation

Kerala PSC’s confirmation document carries a strict warning: confirmation is an undertaking to write the exam, candidates who are not sure of writing it should not confirm, and remaining absent after exercising the option of confirmation will result in blocking of your profile. The Commission does not publish a duration for that block, an appeal route, or a medical exemption — so this guide states the warning and stops there.

  1. Understand what confirmation commits you to

    It is not a registration of interest. The Commission describes it as an undertaking to write the examination, and explicitly tells candidates not to submit it if they are unsure of writing the exam.

  2. The stated consequence

    Remaining absent after exercising the option of confirmation will result in blocking of your profile. That is the Commission’s own wording.

  3. What is not published

    How long a block lasts, whether it can be appealed, and whether illness or an emergency is treated as an exception are not stated in the documents we cite. Confident answers to all three circulate online. We do not repeat them, because getting this wrong would mislead someone at the worst possible moment.

  4. Not confirming is different from confirming and not attending

What if I was ill on the exam day?#

Kerala PSC does not publish a medical exemption to that warning in the documents we cite, so we cannot tell you one exists. Contact the Commission through its published enquiry numbers about your specific case.

Is it safer to just not confirm?#
